@ashleygwen7 I’m showing the Apple Wireless Keyboard. At the end of the video, I show the iPad Keyboard Dock (also from Apple, Apple Store, $69 as well).

@ashleygwen7 That’s the Apple Wireless Keyboard. You can get it from the Apple Store. I don’t remember where I bought it. Might have been from Apple, or might have been from another online retailer — many carry it. It costs about $69.

@entro819 I know that most modern ones will. I’d search a shopping site for bluetooth keyboards. Find one you like. Then search for it adding “iPad” to the name to see if anyone else has tried to use it with an iPad.

If youput a keyboard and a mouse in then it’s kinda like a laptop then! Except it doesn’t open and close. An iPod touch, iPhone, and ipads are for TOUCHING!!

@iEatGarbage Why would you want a cursor when you could just touch the screen?

@darealbriznady you gotta jailbreak then you can pair a wireless mouse, and a cursor will show up on the screen.

@sunbatheeducation I know some older models won’t work with the iPad. Sounds like you have one of them.

@Katilea69 Mouse keys is a Mac feature that moves the cursor. There is no cursor on the iPad, being a touch screen device.
You can see the keyboard yourself in any Apple Store or any place they sell Macs. It is not the default keyboard that comes with iMacs.

doesnt it have mousekeys though? as it also designed to work with a mac?

I can manage icons on iPad fine but was thinking of the smaller iPhone4 screen to navigate through menu’s for example to get into SMS to send a text?

How big is the keyboard (length and width) for carrying about?

    Thanks

@darealbriznady No. You really need the touch screen to navigate around. The Keyboard is only good for typing text.

How does the keyboard work as to selecting things? For example, if I had an iPad across the room hooked up to my tv, can I select apps? Can I flip through pages of apps? Or do these still require actually touching the screen? Don’t tell me to buy a laptop if i don’t want to touch the screen, cause I don’t mind it, just thinking using it as a kind of set top box when I travel.

@mrdinh1 Yes. But you’d have to unpair the keyboard from one to pair with the other. Lots of steps. So it would be ok if you only had to use it on your ipad occasionally. But if you do it daily it would be a real pain.

I didn’t know you can link this up with a keyboard. However it’s sad it won’t work with an older keyboard. I only use IBM keyboards because I love the feel of it, and the distinctly IBM clicky sounds. I adamantly refuse to use anything else other than an old IBM keyboard.

@tachowar No. That would create chaos. You would type and the letter would appear in both places. That’s why it can only pair with one device at a time. You can unpair and then connect to the other device as needed, tho. Just one at a time.
