   I have been through 2 bluetooth keyboard cases for my iPad in the past. One was just outright atrocious in quality while the other (Kensington) didn’t have a great keyboard. The Splash Quantum bluetooth case has all the features I was looking for.Protection – this case is good on both functions – protection and keyboard. Level of protection offered is great with the supple leather that is offers nice padding if I accidentally dropped my iPad. I think it would protect well even if I were to smash it to the ground, but I’d rather not give that a try.Keyboard – The keyboard is nicely laid out. Given the relative size of the iPad, I didn’t expect a full sized Mac type keyboard, but I wanted something functional where I wasn’t constantly punching in the wrong keys. I would probably size this keyboard somewhere in between a Mac and say a netbook (maybe closer to netbook). I have average sized fingers, but I think the keys should work well for all. Not once have I had to punch a key in twice (a problem I consistently had with the Kensington keyboard). The number of typos for me here are the same as a type on my Mac.Bluetooth – the connection is a snap. Once I set up my iPad to automatically connect, I simply need to switch on the bluetooth in this case and the iPad is connected right away (Kensington had the same feature). I like that I don’t have to go into my iPad settings each time to connect.Battery – I switch on the bluetooth only when I need to use it and turn it off as soon as I’m done. If I forget to turn it off, the bluetooth turns itself off after I think a half hour or so of inactivity (there might be a feature to define this shut-off time but I haven’t looked into it). So far, and I am only making an educated guess, I have gotten approximately 3 hours of usage time and haven’t run out of battery.Stand – the case allows me to rest the iPad on the stand as I type so it feels pretty much like a PC. Personally I would have liked to see at least one more angle if I wanted to tilt the screen a little more, but I don’t see the space for adding another stand.All in all I am more than happy with this device. It is cheaper than what I saw at the Apple store and works to my satisfaction. I would recommend this device, and would DEFINITELY recommend this over the Kensington.

   Probably the best accessory I have bought to date for my iPad. It has essentially made my laptop redundant because I now use my iPad with this keyboard for all my emails. The case itself is well made, protective and convenient to use. It took me a few days to adjust to the keyboard but all is good now. The stand makes all the difference in that it makes it feels like my laptop itself with the keyboard and monitor in front.
