   I bought this as a gift for an iPad user in my family. It got it because of the price and the description of the quality (Napa leather). Upon receipt, I found that the leather is acceptable, but not what I would call “Coach brand quality.” It’s rather thin. I also don’t like the elastic strap. I don’t understand its purpose. It gets in the way and doesn’t look all that nice. I thought it was a design element of the case, not a “functional” one. The best thing about this case is the design that allows it to hold up the iPad in various angles for viewing. It’s also reasonably protective. I guess my main reason for rating it as a “3″ is that I expected the leather quality to be higher. In short, this case does what it should do for a reasonable price. So many of the iPad accessories are way over-priced, particularly the leather cases. Of course, Apple’s own plastic case is a rip off in the extreme. I will mention that the recipient of this case uses it with a screen protector (mandatory in my opinion if you care about the life-span of the device’s screen). Also, he has a black silicone case/skin that covers the back of the device which he uses on occasion (but keep in mind this Napa leather case can’t be used in combination with other cases/skins like the silicone one). All in all, this purchase was a good one and I’d recommend the product as long as your expectations are in line with the relatively purchase price. I’d personally love to see a high-quality leather case for the iPad like the ones that are offered for the NOOK Color (which I own myself and which cost me the same as this Napa one). Whenever I’m with the iPad user in my family, he’s always jealous of the look and feel of the really nice leather case covering my NOOK. As an aside, he also admits that NOOK is a much better reader than the iPad. The big problem (pun intended) is just how big the iPad is—it’s way too big to be a good ereader. The NOOK is a perfect tablet size for reading and the screen quality is, well, flat out amazing (even by Apple’s standards). Oh, and it costs half as much as an iPad.

   For the price this “faux” leather ipad flip case works great at protecting it and can be used to prop up. highly recommended.

   The leather is very nice and the case is constructed well. I was concerned at first as to how secure the iPad would be with the two straps and the shell it slips into but I find it is virtually impossible for it to fall out or become dislodged. The straps make it a little slick since the iPad sits on them in this mode and the bumps, for lack of a better term, are too small for the last setting. It is too much of an angle. This is not too bad because the other angles suffice. I recommend this case.
